Australia's largest hotel is ready for business after a $250 million makeover and extension.
The Hyatt Regency Sydney has opened its doors in Darling Harbour with a new 24-story tower, adding extra 222 new rooms. The hotel has a total of 892 rooms including suites and club rooms. Formerly the Four Points Darling Harbour, now rebranded as Hyatt Regency Sydney, is set to be a busy spot for business and leisure travelers, as well as meeting and events.

Guests can now enjoy many of the hotel’s facilities, including state-of-the-art meeting and event facilities and a new Regency Club lounge, all of which will provide the ultimate dwelling for both business and leisure travelers to relax and unwind,” said David Udell, group president of Asia Pacific, Hyatt Hotels Corporation
The hotel’s transformation led by M&L Hospitality includes a 272-seat all day dining restaurant, and the open-air bar, set to open in late December, will be the ultimate destination for viewing Sydney’s New Year’s Eve fireworks.
A recent market report by JLL into the Sydney hotel market shows that performance remains strong. In 2015, 40.7 million visitor nights were spent in Sydney City with and Average Daily Rate (ADR) of $245 and 87.9 cent occupancy rate. See report here.
In 2016 Nationally Revenue per Availalble Room (RevPAR) was up by 3.6 per cent from $111.30 to $115.30 according the the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).
Rooms at the new Hyatt Regency Sydney are expected to cost from $275 per night.
