Condé Nast Traveler has announced the results of its annual Readers’ Choice Awards and Halcyon House has again placed in the top ten of hotels in Australia, coming in at number five.

One of Australia’s favourite and most unique beachside hotels, Halcyon House is known for its distinctive interiors and idyllic location in Cabarita Beach, 30 minutes north of Byron Bay and 15 minutes south of the Gold Coast Airport.

More than 600,000 Condé Nast Traveler readers across the globe submitted a record-breaking number of responses rating their travel experiences.

Halcyon House, a former surfer motel turned 21-room boutique hotel, has been in the top five of hotels in Australia for the past two years.

Opening in 2015, Halcyon House is famed for its interiors, which are courtesy of acclaimed interior designer Anna Spiro. Rich fabric upholstered walls, handpicked antique treasures and original art are found throughout the property, and into Halcyon House’s latest addition, Halcyon Spa. Halcyon Spa utilises iconic Australian skincare brand Sodashi in their treatments and features a boutique, dome-shaped steam room. 

Halcyon House is also home to on-site restaurant, Paper Daisy, renowned for its delectable dishes. The restaurant began a new chapter in 2019, with Jason Barratt appointed as Executive Chef. A popular destination restaurant, frequented by Halcyon House guests and locals alike, Paper Daisy features a seafood-focussed menu showcasing produce from the local northern rivers region.

The 2019 Readers' Choice Awards are published on Condé Nast Traveler's website and celebrated in the November issue of Condé Nast Traveler US and UK print editions.
