The world-renowned Blanket Bay Lodge in Southern Lakes region of New Zealand shares more than just spectacular views with the neighbouring Wyuna Preserve, the lots of which are for sale.
When Tom Tusher began to develop what would go on to become the world-renowned Blanket Bay Lodge in the early 90s, he recognised the potential of the surrounding area.
The former Levi Strauss GM had purchased the land for the five-star lodge in 1971, but it was not until he came back more than two decades later that he decided to also buy nearby Wyuna Station.
Mr Tusher teamed up with local developer John Darby and together the pair achieved consent to cut off the Preserve from the station and develop a high end residential community.
Today, Wyuna Preserve offers uninterrupted views of pristine lake and mountainscape from a position overlooking Blanket Bay Lodge and just 30 minutes to Queenstown and its International Airport.
Only six of the 34 exclusive and private parcels that make up the preserve remain for sale in what are some of the last locations on the shores of Lake Wakatipu that will ever become available.
The inescapable natural environment shapes many of the features within the gated community, which include an onsite clubhouse complete with gym and pool, as well as a recreation and entertainment complex.
There is also a Boat House for recreation activities on Lake Fyfe.
The site benefits from a property manager with an office located at the Gate House, as well as a full-time caretaker that undertakes the property maintenance within the preserve.

The preserve also has an active Residents Association responsible for ensuring that the property is properly managed and all compliance requirements are achieved.
The natural outdoor setting does not come at the cost of modern amenities, with each lot installed with underground power, water and telephone connections, while high-speed internet connection is achieved using the latest in Ethernet Radio technology.
