Phase 4 restrictions come into effect from Saturday 27 June, removing COVID-19 restrictions on Western Australia’s hospitality venues.
Australian Hotels Association (WA) CEO Bradley Woods has commended today’s announcement by the McGowan Government that Phase 4 restrictions will come into effect from Saturday 27 June, removing COVID-19 restrictions on WA’s hospitality venues.
Mr Woods told WILLIAMS MEDIA WA Premier Mark McGowan and his Government were to be congratulated for achieving a "world-class outcome" for the state.
What do Phase 4 restrictions mean:
"Saturday marks an important milestone for Western Australia in our industry’s recovery recovery effort, with virtually all restrictions on venues being removed and trade returning to normal," he said.
“The AHA has worked tirelessly with the State Government to ensure we had restrictions that were as workable as possible and then removed as quickly as possible and we have delivered this sooner than expected.”
“WA is now well ahead of other Australian states, with the most relaxed restrictions in the country.”
He added Phase 4 restrictions would be warmly welcomed by WA’s hotels, bars, pubs, restaurants and taverns that had lost revenue.
“While there is a growing urgency to re-opening WA’s interstate borders, there is a significant and rising threat posed in Victoria, so the reluctance to prematurely bring down the hard border is understandable," he said.
“The AHA has worked tirelessly with the WA Government since the first restrictions were imposed and commend Premier McGowan, Minister Paul Papalia and Minister Roger Cook for their close engagement.”
