Knight Frank Northern Territory Senior Partner Peter McVann has been appointed to market Tiwi Islands Adventures and Melville Island Lodge for sale.
An established Northern Territory accommodation lodge and tourism business is on the market through Knight Frank.
Known as a fishing hotspot, the Melville Island Lodge consists of two VIP rooms, six cabin style rooms and six single rooms, with a maximum capacity of 21 guests.
There is also a covered deck which has a lock up kitchen/bar and a large seating area with views over Snake Bay, as well as staff facilities that include a manager's residence comprising two bedrooms, kitchen and a bathroom.
The Tiwi Islands Adventures has operated since 1998 and caters for anglers of all skill levels, plus small corporate groups seeking a remote, professionally-guided sport-fishing experience.
Guests are provided with a high-quality catch & release fishing adventure situated in a spectacular and pristine wilderness environment.
Dominant fish species include barramundi, mangrove jacks, threadfin salmon, saratoga, golden snapper, black jewfish, queenfish, giant trevally, spanish mackerel plus 40 other varieties.
Selling agent Peter McVann, Knight Frank (Northern Territory) said Peter McVann said the business had a "sound cashflow base" that new owners could capitalise and further develop
"Melville Island Lodge caters for fishing packages in which patrons have guided fishing tours and are accommodated at the lodge," he said.
"The business is currently operated by Tiwi Island Adventures, which is mainly associated with the traditional owners.
"Loyal repeat customers make regular pilgrimages to the Lodge and the fishing adventures, but many first timers are often spell bound by the environment and offering.
"As a frequent visitor and selling agent, we strongly recommend any investors or operators interest in a real life changing adventure to look into acquiring this business."
The Melville island lodge is located Darwin 80 km north of Darwin, with Melville and neighbouring Bathurst collectively known as the “Tiwi Islands”.
The Tiwi Islands are accessed via Darwin where visitors are transported to the islands by light aircraft, a scenic 30 minute private charter flight.
Tiwi Islands Adventures holds permits to fish the red fishing zone which covers the north and west coasts of the Island.
The leasehold interest in the land is secured by a 20 years lease expiring 28th February 2033 with a 20 year option.
Mr McVann said although the obvious buyer will most likely be linked to the tourism industry, the lodge offered opportunities outside the sector.
"It could be adapted to a private resort, retreat, school camp, corporate or group getaway, workers campus or simply a private getaway, or any number of other as defined by the new purchaser," he said.
