Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour and MusicHelps are proud to present L’ART de la MUSIQUE, an exclusive fundraiser to celebrate and support talented Kiwi music industry professionals who have been affected by COVID-19 restrictions within the industry at large. With performances from some of New Zealand's leading music personalities, the L'ART de la MUSIQUE event will see the best of Aoteroa's music industry coming together in solidarity with MusicHelps.
MusicHelps is a unique charity that is dedicated to changing lives by providing tailored support and assistance to hundreds of people throughout the music industry who may be experiencing hardship, illness or distress. With severely limited opportunities for international music acts to tour New Zealand with our borders remaining closed, the local music industry remains significantly impacted by a reduction in working opportunities that were plentiful prior to 2020.
Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour have partnered with MusicHelps to host L’ART de la MUSIQUE this March, with the aim of giving a helping hand to the people that change lives through music. With the Sofitel’s brand truth of ‘Joie de Vivre’, or joy of living, at the forefront of the event, the fundraising evening will bring together and celebrate New Zealand’s music community.
“Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour is thrilled to partner with MusicHelps to raise funds for individuals severely impacted by changes to New Zealand’s music industry as a result of the pandemic. Our local music industry is often the first to rally together in support of people in need so it's now our time to extend a hand to MusicHelps, ensuring they can continue their important work supporting those most affected” says Stephen Gould, General Manager Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour.
Guests will enjoy an evening of elegance in the recently refurbished Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour, which has embraced its contemporary French luxury and art-de-vivre heritage. After a welcoming performance by the internationally acclaimed NZTrio, further live performances from industry icons Ladi6, Julia Deans and Tami Neilson will lead the first half of the evening, with the second act marked by a live auction.
Funds raised from the event and auction will enable MusicHelps to extend its essential programmes providing financial, counselling and other wellbeing support to kiwi music workers whose livelihoods have been shattered in 2020.
As Peter Dickens, MusicHelps General Manager, explains “MusicHelps aims to ensure New Zealand continues to have a viable and thriving music industry once our borders have opened up to international acts again in the future. The L’ART de la MUSIQUE event will celebrate the talent in our industry and further support members of our community who continue to face hardship.”
The L’ART de la MUSIQUE celebration and fundraising evening will take place on Wednesday, 31st March at the Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour for invited guests. A silent online auction will also run alongside the event for Kiwis who want to extend their support for their local music industry. Not to be missed silent auction items include a customized Alpha Industries bomber jacket Lorde wore to her Melodrama listening event in New York and an exclusive Lost Property VIP speakeasy experience hosted by Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour.
