Trans-Tasman creative-led interior design agency CTRL Space has been honoured with an Interior Award for its work on Sky City’s new Pacific-inspired restaurant, Metita. Chris Stevens, CTRL Space’s founder and Principal, accepted the award at a ceremony hosted by Architecture NZ in Auckland last night.

Stevens said, “this is an incredible accolade to receive. To be recognised by the industry in this way is amazing and we are grateful to Architecture NZ for providing such a fantastic forum for showcasing Aotearoa’s design talent. We are very proud of the work that we produce at CTRL Space. There is an art to creating spaces that look beautiful but underpinning that is our ethos that form should always follow function."

"We aspire for our work to facilitate great experience and enhance interpersonal connection in a way that meets the client’s objective. Our design inspiration for Metita was the culture, cuisine and art of the Pacific. We created an immersive experience influenced by traditional fishing tools and the essence of the ocean. It’s an iconic and enduring design that I think adds something truly unique to our country’s hospitality landscape.”

CTRL Space has studios in Auckland and Brisbane and is the name behind interior works for many of New Zealand’s most well-known and prestigious hospitality venues, hotels and workplaces. The Interior Award win follows the agency’s new brand launch last month and adds extra sparkle to its 15-year anniversary celebrations.
