Savills Australia and New Zealand announce the sale of the Country Club Hotel, sold via an off-market Offers to Purchase process after a thorough and targeted campaign.
Located at 151 Cunningham Street in the heart of Dalby’s town centre, the Country Club Hotel sits prominently on a prime corner where Cunningham Street meets State Route 82. Covering an expansive 2,073 sqm*, the property boasts a commanding presence at the gateway to the town’s main street.
Leon Alaban, Head of Hotels – National – Savills Australia and New Zealand said, “The hotel enjoys a prime corner position on the town’s main street, making it a highly visible and central landmark in the community. Renowned for its welcoming atmosphere and quality offerings, it holds a strong reputation among both locals and visitors.
“This established standing underscores its importance as a cornerstone of the town's social and hospitality scene, ensuring consistent patronage and a solid foundation for continued success.”
Dalby is a town located in the Western Downs region of Queensland, approximately two and a half hours drive northwest of Brisbane. It serves as a key agricultural and industrial hub, positioned within the fertile Darling Downs plains, which support a variety of farming activities including cotton, sorghum, and wheat production. In recent years, the town has seen growth in energy production, particularly renewable energy projects such as wind and solar farms.
The combination of agriculture, energy, and services gives Dalby a diversified and stable economic base, with ongoing opportunities for growth in renewable energy and infrastructure development.
The Country Club Hotel has a rich historical background. The current structure was built in 1912 and named Arcadia, before being renamed the Country Club Hotel in 1935. In 2015, the hotel endured a devastating fire, but it has since undergone an extensive 12-month renovation, during which the entire internal of the hotel was restored. This renovation included modern upgrades, such as the installation of 20 new gaming machines, revitalising the venue while preserving its legacy.
The hotel’s facilities comprise of a main bar (TAB & Keno), bistro dining area, bistro dining bar, cocktail bar, beer garden and footpath dining, gaming room (operating 20 EGMs with an approval to operate up to 29 EGMs), additional dining/ function area and four-bedroom manager’s accommodation.
“An exciting period lies ahead with the new owner (Hakfoort Group) already underway with plans to renovate & reposition the offering, the Hakfoort Group have already commenced their repositioning strategy by immediately implementing a name change to the ‘Dalby Hotel’.
“With its solid foundation and future renovations, the property is well-positioned for future growth and new inclusions to maximise its potential,” concluded Mr Alaban.
