Daydream Island Resort has announced it will increase its substantial renovation investment by $14 million to a total of $100 million as they finalise their refurbishment plans ahead of the island’s reopening in September this year.
Australians will soon have a new holiday destination to add to their bucket list with the reopening of Daydream Island Resort in September 2018. Following an extensive $100 million redevelopment, the new premium resort will become a tropical haven for romantics, families and groups.
The increase in investment will provide funding for a spectacular pool landscape featuring an absolute beach front pool, adjacent infinity pool and central lagoon style pool with an attached kids area. An adult’s only area and a series of cabanas will join the three new pools to become a central hub for guests and a main feature of the resort.
The island has undergone extensive construction for the redevelopment of the resort, which will see the return of the Living Reef and an expanded food and beverage offering with three restaurants and five bars across the island.
The now 4.5* resort will offer 290 refurbished modern rooms and suites with the choice of interconnecting rooms for families and special access rooms.
There will be an expanded food and beverage offering with three restaurants and five bars across the island, giving guests a plethora of options catering to every need. An Executive Chef for the island will be announced in the coming months and will be adding an exciting Asian Fusion restaurant to the collection of dining venues to sit alongside the Buffet and Modern Australian Restaurants.
Guests will be able to dive into a snorkeling adventure at any time of the day or explore the island & surrounding Great Barrier Reef Marine Park by helicopter, sailboat or jetski. Daydream Island Resort will have activites for all ages with swimming pools, coral beaches, gym facilities and unlimited access to non-motorised water activities. The Kid’s Club will be a haven for children with an exciting range of activites on offer each day and the exclusive adult’s only areas cater to those in search of a sanctuary.
The island will offer a breathtaking new pool landscape allowing guests to swim and enjoy three separate pools with unparalled views across the Whitsunday’s Great Barrier Reef. An absolute beach front pool, adjacent infinity pool and central lagoon style pool with an attached kids area will be sure to wow all guests. Adults will also have a private retreat to call their own with ‘adults only’ area and dedicated cabanas. The swimming hub will be complemented by a poolside bar and a new burger concept restaurant all below an integrated shade pergola.
Daydream Island Resort’s event space will cater major events, yet still provide a personal touch. Guests visiting the island for conferences will have access to the latest technology audio visual equipment across three dedicated conference rooms. Special events from cocktail parties to gala dinners can be catered for across a large range of indoor and outdoor event locations, with weddings continuing to play a large part in the story of Daydream Island Resort.
Director of Sales & Marketing, Jayson Heron said ‘The reopening of Daydream Island is a huge milestone after the devastation caused by Cyclone Debbie. It will have been an 18 month journey and we are excited to welcome our loyal regulars and new guests to the island to experience the new premium offering.’
Daydream Island Resort will have their soft opening from 29 September 2018 with all resort facilities operational by 1 November 2018.
