New Zealand’s largest accommodation group, Quest Apartment Hotel Group, is set to expand their property portfolio with the opening of a new Quest in Tauranga, scheduled for August this year, and the announcement of the newly contracted Quest Takapuna in Auckland.
Development entity, Baird, has partnered with Quest to establish a mixed-use development in Takapuna located at 215 Shakespeare Road.
The development will be made up of 51 Quest Keys and seven high end residential apartments and commercial suites. Quest Takapuna is specifically designed to take advantage of the local population’s growing specialist medical needs and increasing commercial activity happening in Takapuna.
Quest Takapuna is also in a prime position to benefit from business taking place in the surrounding precincts including North Shore hospital, Smales Farm business park, Vodafone, Air New Zealand, and Sovereign Insurance head offices and all in close vicinity to Wairau Park.
Quest Takapuna will add to the local business and hospitality scene enjoyed by locals and business commuters. Within easy walking distance of both central Takapuna, Smales Farm and the Goodside precinct; dining, entertainment and hospitality will all easily co-exist in one place.
The Baird group secured the site in June 2018 and expect construction to begin in October 2019 with anticipated completion in late 2020.
Stephen Mansfield, Quest Apartment and Hotels, NZ CEO, said “after searching to locate the right Quest facility in Takapuna for over 10 years, I am delighted we are able to bring the first branded accommodation facility to sit within the Takapuna commercial environment, especially at such an exciting time of growth and commercial upturn in the area.”
