Communications professional Di Bain has been appointed to the Tourism Western Australia board until May 27, 2020.
Ms Bain, who has more than two decades of experience in the communications industry, is the managing director of Bain Media, chairperson of Activate Perth and on the advisory board of Nuut, a Perth-based wellness start-up.
An advocate for the arts, she has an extensive background in the fields of media, marketing and communications.
Tourism Minister Paul Papalia welcomed Ms Bain and said her appointment would add to the mix of knowledge and skills represented on the Tourism WA board.
Mr Papalia thanked outgoing board member Ian Thubron, who joined the board on November 1, 2015, for his service.
The Minister said Mr Thubron, as chairperson of the Events Committee, played a key role in guiding and developing the events strategy through a pivotal period that included the confirmation of event budget stability and the opening and activation of Optus Stadium.
Tourism Minister Paul Papalia stated that, "On behalf of the State Government, it is my pleasure to welcome Di Bain to the Tourism WA board."
"I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge outgoing board member Ian Thubron for his valuable contribution as part of the Tourism WA board and wish him all the best for the future."
