Furn-niche recently installed the furniture fixtures and fittings into Quest Penrith, marking the 30th new property that they have delivered for Quest Apartment Hotels.
Coupled with the design and delivery of 14 refurbishment projects, Furn-niche has cemented themselves as a key delivery partner for the Australasia’s leading apartment hotel operator. Furn-niche has worked alongside Quest since 2008, delivering furniture into projects all over Australia.
Both businesses have grown together by pushing to improve the guest experience and respond to market trends and expectations. Quest Penrith embodies the carefully considered design changes that are being rolled out across the new Quest properties.
The goal is to have a signature Quest look, that is modern, corporate and on-trend. Consistency across the new properties with the furniture & material selections are combined with a one-off, personalised approach to colours, artwork & soft furnishings.
Furn-niche have worked in conjunction with Melbourne design firm Zunica and Quest to develop the furniture designs to be smarter, lighter and clean-lined. The modular pieces can be configured in a variety of arrangements and can be adapted to personify each individual project.

Quest Penrith for example, uses darker finishes and a colour palette to reflect the surrounding Blue Mountains. Natural materials such as terrazzo stone tables and warm timber grains again echo the geographical location and complement the hard finishes designed and specified by DKO Architects.
Overall the new design standards are responding to the evolving guest, who has come to expect thoughtful interior design that allows them to experience the local culture in a comfortable, hi-tech, and personalised space.

With an exciting pipeline of new projects set for the next 24 months, Furn-niche recently conducted an FF&E workshop at the Quest Corporate office in Melbourne. The day was designed to review all past projects and apply the Lessons Learnt to the upcoming projects.
Irene Caines Project Manager at Quest Apartment Hotels said “the Furn-niche team are integral to Quest’s growth strategy and holding a workshop like this ensures we are on the same page, and our product quality, delivery and look continues to exceed the expectations of our guests and clients. Our whole Project team was involved, and Furn-niche flew 6 of their team down to Melbourne, so it was really great to analyse projects from a design, manufacturing, delivery and serviceability standpoint”
Simone Smits, Executive Director at Furn-niche agreed with Irene. “Even though a project like Quest Penrith has been successful from all reports, there are always things that we can improve, so this workshop captured the details from a variety of perspectives and allows us to keep on striving for perfection.”
Furn-niche is scheduled to fit-out two further Quest properties in the coming months.
