ICD Property and the City Tattersalls Club have received envelope approval from the council’s Central Sydney Planning Committee for the Stage 1 Concept Development Application of its City Tattersalls Club site.
Sydney's iconic Tattersalls Club is set for an upgrade after a Development Application for the site received approval on Friday.
Developed in partnership between ICD Property and the almost 125-year old club, the redevelopment includes plans revamp the entire club house, including retail, restaurants, a combined hotel and Club reception on the ground level, as well as an event space, a premium co-working centre, health and wellbeing facilities and other member facilities.
City of Sydney Council also approved a proposal to build a 49-storey tower comprising about 246 residential apartments and a 100-room hotel (plus ancillary facilities) above the site.
City Tattersalls Club Chairman Patrick Campion said the approval, which followed a long period of working collaboratively with council, will safeguard the club well into the future.
“City Tattersalls Club’s rejuvenated premises will be a modern multi-purpose facility for inner city residents and a tremendous new base from which the Club can continue to serve the city and its many thousands of members well into a second century,” he said.

ICD Property Managing Director, Matthew Khoo, said the company worked closely with the City of Sydney and expert planning consultants, including local architects fjmt, throughout the DA submission process to ensure a "collaborative and unified outcome" was reached.
“Not only will our work breathe life back into this site, but we hope that it will contribute heavily to the surrounding CBD streetscape, alongside the upcoming redevelopment of the neighbouring David Jones site by Scentre Group and CBUS and introduction of a new tram network on nearby George Street,” he said.
“We are excited to be part of Sydney’s growth, contributing a development that will greatly enhance the CBD by including an activated ground floor, home to a number of businesses and amenities that will bring people together and give back to the local streetscape.”
