Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific is set to boost its presence in Queensland after acquiring the Peppers Airlie Beach resort on the Whitsunday Coast in a deal negotiated by CBRE Hotels agents Wayne Bunz and Hayley Manvell.
Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific has set its sights on Queensland's Whitsunday Coast, with the company announcing the purchase a majority freehold interest in Peppers Airlie Beach resort.
Barry Robinson, President and Managing Director, International Operations, Wyndham Vacation Clubs, said the property will be rebranded Club Wyndham Airlie Beach Whitsundays and will be available for almost 60,000 Club Wyndham timeshare owners.
As part of the acquisition, Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific will also own and operate the onsite food and beverage and conferencing facilities.
Boasting a magnificent location overlooking the Whitsunday Passage, Club Wyndham Airlie Beach features an open-air restaurant and bar, infinity pool and spa, gym, conference facilities and undercover parking.

The deal was brokered by CBRE Hotels agents Wayne Bunz and Hayley Manvell, with Mr Bunz describing the timing of the acquisition as "excellent".
"The region’s accommodation market witnessing a strong resurgence off the back of a growth in rate and occupancy, and with over $200 million committed for new and improved infrastructure across the Whitsunday region, there will be enough to cater for the region’s next growth boom.”
Mr Robinson said he was excited to have secured the property on the beautiful Whitsunday Coast.

The addition of Club Wyndham Airlie Beach takes the Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific managed resort portfolio to 70 properties across Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Indonesia, Thailand, Hawaii, Europe and Japan.
