Marriott International has announced the appointment of Jim Scholefield as Chief Information and Digital Officer, effective February 24.
Marriott International's digital division is set to start a new era next under recently appointed Chief Information And Digital Officer Jim Scholefield.
Reporting to Marriott International Consumer Operations, Technology and Emerging Businesses Group President, Stephanie Linnartz, Mr Scholefield will be responsible for leading all aspects of the company’s information technology and digital strategies.
Ms Linnartz said he would play a "pivotal role" in driving Marriott International's technology modernization efforts.
“We are embarking on a new chapter in the company’s technology journey to support our future growth, both within our core lodging business and new ventures,” she said.

“Jim brings incredible experience to Marriott, having led technology transformations at major global corporations for more than 30 years.”
Mr Scholefield joins Marriott International from pharmaceutical company Merk & Co, where he was Chief Information and Digital Officer.
Prior to that, he was Chief Information Officer at Nike, where he led digital transformation and enterprise IT capability improvements for critical infrastructure and state-of-the-art cybersecurity.
Mr Scholefield also spent five years as Chief Technology Officer at The Coca-Cola Company.
He will commence his new role on February 24.
