Staywell Holdings will hope to usher in a new era of growth for its Asia Pacific hotel brands with the appointment of Jip Van Driest as Director of Development.

With a global career spanning over 10 years with hotel financial management companies, Ms Van Driest has previously held a diverse range of roles across Australia, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, including stints with the Taj Resort and Palaces and InterContinental Hotel Group, as well as her most recent appointments at CBRE and JLL.

She said she looked forward to developing strong relationships with prospective hotel and hospitality owners, developers and consultants across Australian-Pacific in her new position.

“I am thrilled to be joining the StayWell Group in Australia at such an exciting time of growth the company," she said.

"As the fastest growing Travel and Tourism region, Asia-Pacific continues to increase in importance for the global hospitality industry and holds strong growth prospects for our company."

Ms Van Driest's responsibilities include sourcing and negotiating new hotel deals and accountability for driving growth for StayWell and brands in the Asia-Pacific region, predominately focused in Australia and South East Asia.

StayWell currently has 29 opened hotels and 21 properties in development with a target of 100 properties in the short-term future.

StayWell Holdings Director and President, Simon Wan, said the company was "delighted" to welcome Ms Van Driest.

“With her proven track record and extensive development and relationship skills, she will play an invaluable role in driving hotel acquisition and supporting our growing global pipeline of hotels,” he said.

Ms Van Driest joined the StayWell development team at corporate head office in Sydney this month.
