The announcement of WA’s largest ever intrastate marketing campaign has the strong support of the Australian Hotels Association (AHA) WA, which says the initiative will provide significant support to WA’s hotels and hospitality businesses at a time it is facing unprecedented challenges.
A campaign encouraging Western Australians to take advantage of the many tourist attractions within their own state has received praise from the Australian Hotels Association, which believes "multi facected assistance" is required to protect jobs and businesses within the sector.
In the same week the federal government announced a $17.6 billion economic stimulus package to assist businesses impacted by the spread of Covid-19, the WA Government pledged to support the accommodation sector by launching its biggest intrastate tourism campaign.
Set to be integrated across channels such as digital, video, print, out-of-home and social advertising around the state, Do it in WA will feature road trip itineraries and experiences designed to encourage short lead bookings.

“The challenge we are facing in WA is unprecedented and so it requires an extraordinary response by government, which is what makes the announcement so encouraging,” he said.
“The ‘Do It In WA’ campaign will drive many Western Australians to look at the vast array of holiday options we have throughout the state, from well-known tourism hotspots through to unparalleled destinations off the beaten track.

“The hotel accommodation offering as well as the food and beverage options throughout the state are world-class, however we often overlook what is right in front of us when considering a holiday – this campaign will encourage local holidaymakers to look at what we have on offer in our own backyard.
“Strategic marketing campaigns play an important role in sustaining hotels and hospitality businesses and so we encourage all Western Australians to ‘Do It In WA’ this year.”
