Western Sydney Parklands Trust is inviting expressions of interest for the Pikes Lane Tourism Hub in the burgeoning Western Sydney region.
As the tourism industry confronts one of its toughest challenges yet, there is fresh hope about the inevitable return of the sector in the coming months.
It is with this in mind that the Western Sydney Parklands Trust is inviting expressions of interest for lease and development of the Pikes Lane Tourism Hub.
Part of Australia's largest urban parkland, the 25.2 hectare site suits a range of tourism activities, including recreation, leisure, entertainment and nature-based uses.
Not only is there direct access to the Sydney Orbital Network, including the M4 and M7, but the land is strategically located in close proximity to Raging Waters Sydney (formerly Wet’ n’ Wild), Sydney Zoo, Calmsley Hill City Farm, Bungarribee Park, Blacktown International Sportspark, Sydney Motorsport Park and Sydney Dragway.

A two-stage marketing campaign is beingthrough NSW eTendering and is being managed by Sustainable Park Solutions, with the Stage One EOI process closing on April 8.
SPS Managing Director Matt Williams described the development opportunity as "exciting", given the resilience which has previously showcased by the sector in times of economic decline as domestic tourists focus on local destinations.
"We've already had good interest from hotels and a number of other tourism operators, who are aware how difficult it is to find sites of this scale in a premier location," he said.

"The site has the potential to attract not only families on holiday, but also workers visiting the area, as well as sporting groups and other clubs."
"It's a large parcel of land in a tightly held location, so proponents may decide they only want to use part of it instead of the entire site, which is also an option."
Expressions of interest for Pikes Lane Tourism Hub must be submitted via the NSW eTendering before the deadline on April 8.
