CBRE Hotels will welcome Tourism Australia Chair Bob East, Accor COO Simon McGrath and hotelier Jerry Schwartz this month for a webinar designed to provide an insight about what the road ahead looks like for the sector.
Pillars of Australia's hotel and tourism sectors will come together this month to discuss the currrent state of affairs for operators in the wake of COVID-19 and the way back for the industry.
Hosted by CBRE, Hotels in the New World: Navigating the Road to Recovery will include a panel made up of Tourism Australia Chair Bob East, Accor COO Simon McGrath and hotelier Jerry Schwartz, as well as contributions from CBRE Valuations and Advisory Regional Director Troy Craig, and CBRE Debt and Structured Finance Managing Director, Andrew McCasker.
The webinar will be moderated by by CBRE Hotels’ Wayne Bunz and Robert McIntosh.
More than 400 people have registered for the seminar, including participants from Asia and the Middle East.
Mr Bunz told WILLIAMS MEDIA the immediate and all-encompassing impact of Covid-19 on the hotel industry had created a yearning for its leaders to provide guidance.
"The sector needs to hear from those that can help them understand," he said.
"Jerry is always colourful with his opinions and thought leadership, Simon is well positioned to understand the direction of the sector, and Bob has a valued perspective on when Australia's borders could be open again and how the tourism and hotel industries will rebound.
"We've also got Andrew speaking about the finance markets and where they are heading, while Troy will tackle hot topic of valuations and where they are going, drawing from his 27 years of experience."
It comes after CBRE released the results of its Hotel Market Survey last month, which showed more than half of hoteliers have not changed their medium-term investment intentions despite the impact of COVID-19.
Hotels in the New World: Navigating the Road to Recovery will be held from 2pm on Wednesday, May 13.
