Robert McIntosh from CBRE Hotels' Asia Pacific Valuation and Advisory division was awarded the RICS Australia Lifetime Achievement Award in the industry body’s digital awards ceremony last Friday.
More than four decades of built environment experience in the Asia Pacific region was recognised last Friday as CBRE's Robert McIntosh received the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors Australia Lifetime Achievement Award for 2020.
Announced at the industry body's first even digital ceremony, the award recognises eminent commitment to RICS and the wider profession and is the most prestigious award for built environment professionals.
It was one of two wins for CBRE at the ceremony, with the company's Supply Chain Advisory Head Christine Miller taking out the Woman of the Built Environment Award.

Mr McIntosh told WILLIAMS MEDIA he was honoured, if somewhat taken aback, to receive the accolade.
"This award has been made possible because of the many colleagues and clients I have worked with over the years who have supported, taught, mentored and helped me," he said.
"It gives me cause to reflect on all the assistance I have been given, which I really appreciate.
"The camaraderie and teamwork in the places I have been employed, and the property and hotel industries, make work interesting and enjoyable.
"I never expected this when I started working as a valuer in a government office in the UK many years ago."

After joining CBRE in 2007, Mr McIntosh relocated to Singapore in 2009 where he spent 8 years before returning to Australia to take on the title of Executive Director, CBRE Hotels – Valuation & Advisory Services for Asia Pacific.
As an active RICS Fellow, he has a demonstrated track record of commitment to the wider profession, with contributions including supporting the establishment and growth of RICS in Australasia; Playing a strong role in the Singapore Working Group over multiple years; Sitting on the RICS Asia Valuation PG Board from 2012 to 2016, which included authoring an Asia Professional Statement on Hotel Valuations; Spending time training and mentoring younger team members; and sharing insights with the industry through presenting and moderating numerous training courses and conferences.
Mr McIntosh currently sits as Chair of the NSW Regional Engagement Group.
Tom Edwards, CBRE Global President of Valuation & Advisory Services, paid tribute to Mr McIntosh for both the longevity and versatility he had demonstrated throughout his time in the industry.
“Rob has had an outstanding career, which has spanned over 40-years and covers advisory, valuation, operator selection, consulting, sales assignments and more throughout the Asia Pacific region," he said.
"Rob’s integrity, tact and professionalism have led him to become one of the most respected hotel sector professionals within the region, he is continually regarded in the highest esteem by colleagues, clients and peers alike."
