A panel including prominent hotelier Jerry Schwartz will share their views on the current state of Australia's regional hotel market next week as part of a webinar hosted by JLL Hotels and Hospitality Group.
With the country's regional hotels facing more uncertainty in the form of updated domestic travel restrictions, JLL Hotels and Hospitality Group will attempt to provide greater clarity on the market climate through a webinar to be held next week.
Starting at 1pm on August 13, the virtual forum will consist of a "comprehensive" overview of regional hotel trading conditions from STR, followed by contributions from some of the most active and influential stakeholders across the country.
Guest speakers include STR Pacific Regional Manager Simon Burke, Schwartz Family Company Director Jerry Schwartz, Accor Pacific Development General Manager Brett Forer, Lancemore Group CEO Julian Clark, Serene Capital CEO and co-founder Glen Boultwood, Elanor Investors Group Investment Director Wesley Milsom, and Crystalbrook Collection Acting CEO and Group Director Geoff York.

Mr Harper told WILLIAMS MEDIA the purpose of the webinar was to take a "deep dive" into the trends influencing the sector.

"The capital city hotel markets have understandably been the focus of industry-wide commentary over the past few months and this has seen the regional hotel markets get very little 'air-time'," he said.
"Given the size, importance and performance of this sector of the market, we felt it was important to hold this webinar and examine what’s been happening as well as what the future holds.
"Our firm has been incredibly active in the regional markets this year across our investment sales, asset management and valuation divisions.
"We’ve seen several deals take place, some really innovative initiatives across hotel operations and most positively, the green-shoots of the nation’s post-COVID recovery."
The JLL Australian Regional Hotel Market Update webinar will be held from 1-2pm on Thursday, August 13.
