Following the success of a sell-out inaugural season for the 5-day Scenic Rim Trail, Spicers Retreats has released its first summer hiking program for the region.
A new summer walking program showcasing Queensland's Scenic Rim has been added to the state's domestic tourism experiences, providing another way for would-be travellers to explore their own backyard.
Organised through Spicers Retreats, groups of up to 12 walkers are invited to join expert guides as they venture through some of Australia's most pristine landscapes.
Travellers can choose from the five and seven-day walks, both of which encompass new accommodation, as well as the two and three-day walks continuing to depart from Spicers Canopy.

The program starts with lunch at chef-hatted Homage Restaurant, Spicers Hidden Vale, before a helicopter flight to Mt Mistake to stay in purpose-built accommodation, including the “Spicers treehouse”.
Hikers can finish their trip with a stay Spicers Peak Lodge ahead of a helicopter trip back to Spicers Hidden Vale filled with views of the Great Dividing Range, Moogerah Dam and the Condamine Gorge.

As one of the largest eco-tourism ventures in Queensland, the extended Scenic Rim Trail covers 50 kilometres of hiking trails and is Queensland’s only inclusion in the ‘Great Walks of Australia’ collection.
The trail first opened in 2009 with a three-day walk based out of Spicers Canopy, an eco glamping campsite that is now home to the two-day walk.
