With Raes on Wategos almost permanently booked out months in advance, the Catalano family, owners of the Raes Collection, is looking to continue to support the high end domestic tourism market and give locals a greater opportunity to enjoy the Rae’s collection.
’Sea Raes' is the newest addition to their accommodation offering line up in Australia, delivering impeccable customer service with a very local European vibe.

Previously berthed in the Mediterranean and used exclusively by family, Sea Raes was refitted 18 months ago by Tamsin Johnson, the interior designer behind the laid back luxe of Raes on Wategos. With the vessel prepped and at the ready for a Mediterranean charter season prior to COVID interfering, the family have decided to bring to Australia.
"My favorite yacht interiors are always simple and timeless. You almost don't want to notice them. They should be both beautiful and understated, functional above anything and comfortable where the interior lays emphasis on the natural beauty of the surroundings," Tamsin Johnson told WILLIAMS MEDIA. "Sea Raes is an extension of the hotel, natural, understated with a few little quirks of beauty and age."

Now in Sydney, Sea Raes is currently being enjoyed by the Catalano family and friends while Sea Raes team of four - a Captain, First Mate, Chief Stewardess, and Chef - are trained by the Raes on Wategos team to ensure the brand story and experience touchpoints are carried through from each destination.
Onboard full time, the Sea Raes team is being curated by Raes GM Francesca Webster, who has been with Raes since August 2017.

Raes anticipates the yacht to be ready to launch mid 2021, heading North to chase the sun and enjoy a season around the Whitsundays before returning to Sydney in September / October.
The entire boat is available for booking for the day, afternoon, or evening, though with four suites its best use will be overnight/weekend or longer stays, perfect for four couples or two families.
Guests will be picked up by tender from the closest appropriate wharf in Sydney based on the wind on that day.

Back in Byron, Raes on Wategos is undergoing 6-8 weeks of renovation in June/July to extend the kitchen and public washrooms and upgrade the Restaurant and the ever popular Cellar Bar, initiated in 2018. The project will also be overseen by Tamsin Johnson.
