Furn-Niche has just completed its’ first hotel fit-out in New Zealand LQ Kawarau River by Wyndham. It is the first La Quinta to open outside of Europe and the Americas.
Working closely with Safari Group, Furn-Niche was able to bring their vision to life and create a family friendly apartment that is comfortable for longer stay guests.
Interior Designer Pam Taylor at Safari Group worked with New Zealand textile giants James Dunlop to come up with a range and colour scheme that complements the dramatic mountain views that can be seen through each window.
Closed borders between Australia and New Zealand was not an issue for the project team who like the rest of the world conducted zoom meetings and implemented rigorous work flow processes to ensure all went smoothly.
Elizabeth, Development Coordinator from Safari Group, described the process of working with Furn-Niche as incredibly easy and professional.
“LQ Kawarau River was our first project with Furn-Niche and it couldn’t have gone better – even with Covid-19 doing its best to slow us down! The fantastic communication we received from the Furn-Niche team gave us great confidence in the work being completed and we are incredibly happy with the final outcome. We are looking forward to continuing our relationship with Furn-Niche on our future projects.” Said Elizabeth Roberts.
Furn-Niche and Safari Group have nearly completed an additional two more projects: Ramada Wellington and Ramada Newmarket. Both hotels will commence their fitout in the next few weeks and opening their doors in April.
Jo Street Managing Director at Furn-Niche says “As soon as the borders open, my team and I will be on the first flights available to meet Elizabeth and the Safari team in person, stay in our new hotels and maybe squeeze in some skiing! And I’m sure there a lot of pent up Aussies who share this sentiment”.
