A brand new signature restaurant, new banquet menus with a deep-rooted reverence for sustainability, and state-of-the-art audio visual upgrade make W Brisbane the ideal venue for meetings and events in the Sunshine State.
W Brisbane is elevating the meetings and events arena with a total revamp of the hotel’s MICE offering.
New restaurant, The Lex, channels the welcoming hospitality and captivating energy of the W Hotels birthplace of New York City and infuses it with a distinctly Brisbane flavour - making it the perfect venue for delegates seeking a world-class experience with true local familiarity.
To coincide with the opening of The Lex, the hotel has also refreshed their banqueting menus and packages across the entire event floor to reflect the hotels focus and stance on fresh produce and sustainability.
Further enhancing the experience throughout the hotel, W Brisbane has upgraded their three high-resolution LED walls in the Great Room, revolutionising the way that delegates at large-scale conferences will engage with technology at the hotel.
“With these exciting updates to our MICE offering, W Brisbane is well-positioned as a leader in meetings and events that are guaranteed to impress. Our hotel experiences bring to life the true essence of Brisbane in a unique and elevated way”, said Haldon Philp, General Manager at W Brisbane. “We look forward to impressing delegates with our refreshed meetings and events offering, and welcoming domestic and international groups to our hotel – from larger corporate conferences to grand gala dinners and even more intimate dining experiences at our new restaurant”.
The Lex
The opening of new signature restaurant, The Lex, this month has brought a highly sought-after new dining offering to the hotel and with it a fresh event venue that will stand out for its playful spin on the classics.
Ideally located overlooking the iconic Brisbane River, The Lex features terrace style dining creating an airy, open feel that connects diners to the outside while creating a dynamic internal space within. 638 square metres of internal space, and a sprawling terrace blend seamlessly with floor-to-ceiling glass doors extending along the length of the venue that can be opened to adjust to events of all sizes and cater to all kinds of weather.
The Lex will accommodate for functions from formal multi-course sit-down banquets, buffet-style dining, to large cocktail functions with roaming canapés brought to life with live chef stations carving up roast beef, cooking up warm gnocchi, plating up sashimi and cold seafood, and for desserts expect an éclair, parfait or pavlova station.
The Lex is perfect for sunset functions as the sun sets over sweeping views of the Brisbane River. The space can even be styled as a picturesque riverfront wedding venue for parties of up to 180 people.
The restaurant will also house two semi-private dining spaces, seating groups of 25 people and up to 70 people. Curated two to four course menus will be on offer for small groups allowing them to experience a chefs selection of the best of The Lex.
Group bookings will also enjoy old-school cocktail service with a signature twist. In-house mixologists will be serving up champagne cocktails including The Lex Spritz tableside on a cocktail cart for an added touch of flair to signature drinks orders.
Sustainability
Curated by Sous Chef – Banquets, Dino Ng, five time finalist in the Food Service Australia Chef of the Year Awards, the group banquet menus at W Brisbane focus on local and sustainable food offerings.
Produce and meat is sourced directly from local Australian growers and selected to reflect the freshest seasonally available ingredients – from Darling Downs beef, Fraser Island Spanner Crab, Moreton Bay Bugs, and Southern Great Barrier Reef Scallops and to Gooralie free range pork from Southern Downs.
Plant based options offer variety for vegetarian delegates with a full vegetarian set menu for groups and highlight the depth of flavour that can be achieved through the use of simple ingredients when they are at their most fresh.
Food waste is minimized through state of the art food recycling machines that pulp, dehydrate and return any food waste to farms.
Carrying through the sustainability to the event spaces, the Studio Rooms are equipped with Vestal water stations with the option to supply W branded steel water bottles for delegates to refill and keep with them throughout their stay, minimizing plastic waste.
W Brisbane is also a linen-less venue and opts for clutter free setup unless requested otherwise, with notepads, pens and paper available on demand.
State-of-the-art AV with Microhire
Working with leading event staging services provider and in-house AV partner Microhire, W Brisbane has introduced an upgrade to their three high-resolution LED Walls in the Great Room – a pillarless 595 square metre room perfect for large scale events and conferences.
The three LED screens comprising the high-resolution LED Wall have been upgraded, doubling the size of the wall from 2500mm to 5000mm and allowing for larger, more engaging displays.
Aimed at revolutionising the way audiences engage with visual content, the new LED wall also presents nearly double the resolution of prior technology, delivering an unparalleled high-definition viewing experience.
It also offers a superior refresh rate for seamless, uninterrupted visual performance, and a doubled contrast ratio resulting in more vibrant colours and an immersive and dynamic visual spectacle.
