The Catchment Brewing Co has seized the opportunity to acquire the leasehold of popular restaurant and bar Darling & Co in Brisbane’s affluent suburb of Paddington, via a private off-market deal.
The 2,050sqm venue will be transformed into Catchment Brewing Co’s newest and largest Brisbane offering.
CBRE Hotels National Pubs Director Paul Fraser was exclusively appointed to manage the divestment of the Darling & Co leasehold by Australian Venue Co, Australia’s second largest pub owner, after it was identified as a non-core asset.
Mr Fraser noted, “This successful divestment demonstrates our ability to facilitate the strategic imperatives of different operators by matching them with suitable assets nationally.”
Catchment Brewing Co CEO Matt Newberry said, “We are passionate about craft beer, memorable food and great service and this acquisition enables us to expand our offering from Brisbane’s West End into Paddington.”
Situated on a commanding corner site within a key Brisbane entertainment hub and neighbouring Suncorp Stadium, the venue caters to walk in trade and the high-demand function operations.
“We look forward to showcasing our award-winning Catchment Beers to the local residents as well as the many visitors attending sporting matches, concerts and events at Suncorp Stadium,” Mr Newberry said.
