Truffle Lodge 3411 Lyell Highway Gretna for sale by John Blacklow and Matthew Wallace of Knight Frank has been described as a "5 star hotel under canvas".
Positioned on the banks of the Derwent River, near Gretna, 39 kilometres north of Hobart, Truffle Lodge is a 'glamping' property, resembling an Aussie Bush Camp on approximately 4.96 hectares.
Described as a "5 star hotel under canvas", the relatively new tourism concept includes 8 luxurious safari tents together with The Lodge which provides communal bar, dining and lounge facilities, plus an 'open' recreation tent.

“There is nothing better than enjoying a bit of luxury and sitting on the deck watching the river rush by and the platypus playing on the river bank,” John Blacklow told The Hotel Conversation.
“The owners have an affinity for developing and restoring. In 2007 they acquired this river front parcel of 4.964 ha as it was truly spectacular. On a trip to Botswana the penny dropped on what to do with the land and they imported 8 luxurious safari tents. The rest of the infrastructure, including the communal Lodge, were then built and it opened in 2019 as a ‘glamping’ property which is a very popular concept.”

The property is one of the first truffieres in Australia and there is ample room to add more safari tents, build a residence, include a vineyard, or extend the existing one hectare hazelnut orchard (STCA).

The owners of Truffle Lodge have another Tasmanian hospitality property for sale in the Derwent Valley, Woodbridge, a convict-built, restored 1825 Georgian riverfront mansion which was converted to a fully accredited 5-star boutique hotel in 2005.
