NRMA Victor Harbor Beachfront Holiday Park has revealed the latest addition to its waterfront location along South Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula: six new glamping Safari Tents, the only tents set along the beachfront, which each offer direct access to the beach and views stretching to Encounter Bay. Bordered by the Inman River - also known by First Nations name, 'Moo-oola' - the park is centrally located to offer easy access to the Encounter Marine Park’s thriving wildlife.
The spacious new beachside Safari Tents offer a premium glamping experience which is ideally suited for families, young adventurers, and mature travellers, as well as holidaymakers who enjoy some essential creature comforts alongside the best of the great outdoors. A luxurious outdoor bathtub and firepit complement the Safari Tents’ stylish fit out and facilities including king and twin beds, ensuite bathrooms and a fully equipped modern kitchen. The Safari tents can sleep up to 4 people, perfect for families or friends travelling together.
Two of the Safari Tents offer accessible facilities – a first for South Australia as well as for the NRMA Parks portfolio – making a glamping holiday an easy option for families with little ones or travellers with mobility challenges who can enjoy a holiday with the beach and nature on the doorstep.
NRMA’s new Safari Tents were completed thanks to a grant issued by the South Australian Government’s Tourism Development Fund to help tourism businesses bounce back from pandemic-era travel restrictions; the Victor Harbor project was approved to ‘contribute to stimulating and growing the regional economy.’
Just an hour’s drive from Adelaide, Victor Harbor is a wonderful base from which to explore the Fleurieu Peninsula and is just a short walk or historic horse-drawn tram ride along the Causeway to Granite Island Recreation Park. The island and surrounding waters are teeming with marine life including dolphins, penguins, leafy sea dragons and seals. From May to October Southern Right and Humpback Whales cruise by on their annual migration.
There’s plenty to do onsite at NRMA Victor Harbor Holiday Park including a swag of family fun facilities including a waterpark, pump track, jumping pillow and heated pool. The park is just a short walk to the shops, eateries and cinemas at Victor Harbor.
NRMA Parks and Resorts Chief Executive Officer Paul Davies said the group was very appreciative of the South Australian government’s support for the tourism industry after a turbulent time.
“The SATC’s grant has allowed us to bring a new level of premium and inclusive accommodation for our guests in regional South Australia,” Mr Davies said.
“We’re delighted to bring more visitors to the charming seaside town of Victor Harbor with its holiday vibe and incredible marine wildlife right on the doorstep,” he said.
“We believe offering accessible glamping accommodation that’s also luxurious will be appealing to a wide range of guests looking to enjoy an outdoor style holiday with some comforts to enjoy after a day’s adventures.” Good
