JLL announce the successful sale of the famous Granite Belt Retreat in Stanthorpe after a comprehensive national campaign.
JLL are proud to announce the successful sale of the famous Granite Belt Retreat in Stanthorpe after a comprehensive national campaign. The rarity of such a high-quality property on such a large block, combined with the remarkable financial performance garnered significant interest from across the country. The buyer, Tiger Huang, could not be more excited to take this beautiful retreat to the next stage of its evolution.
The retreat features cosy cabin accommodation, the very popular Granite Belt Brewery, function facilities, and a beautiful open plan restaurant, all located in a private rural location surrounded by wildlife and native bushland. Located just outside the southern township of Stanthorpe, the Granite Belt Retreat is the perfect distance from Brisbane for weekend getaways and to explore one of Queensland’s most famous wine regions. The very large property of almost 12 hectares is so popular with customers that reinvestment and expansion are the inevitable next steps.
The owners, Geoff and Dee Davenport, have owned and operated the Retreat for many years and have turned the small regional property into a thriving accommodation and brewery business that is known across the state. While they are very proud of what they have achieved, as with any long-term owner, attention eventually turns to the next venture.
Dee Davenport says “After 14 years of ownership, we are a little sad but also very excited to welcome the new owner to the beautiful Granite Belt region. Tiger has plans to make the business bigger and better, and we can't wait to see the business evolve to the next stage'.
Tiger’s plans include enhancing the beer distribution, adding more and unique accommodation, and extending the market to international customers. Everyone is very excited to see these plans evolve and enhance both the retreat and the entire Stanthorpe experience.
Mark Walsh of JLL Pubs and Hospitality says “I have been very proud to work with Dee and Geoff on this sale, not only because the property is something remarkable in its own right, but also because they are such wonderful people. I have no doubt they will be missed at the Granite Belt Retreat, but I am very excited to see the evolution under Tiger’s stewardship”.
The settlement concluded on the 27th of September, with the final sale price remaining confidential.
