The Spotted Cow Hotel Toowoomba sold to Ben White. The sale of The Spotted Cow Hotel was facilitated by Glenn Price of HTL Property.
HTL Property has today confirmed that Hallmark Hospitality has sold the iconic Spotted Cow Hotel in Toowoomba to Ben White; the son of renowned publican Michael White, owner of the celebrated Bracken Ridge Tavern in Brisbane.
The sale of the Spotted Cow Hotel represents another milestone in Hallmark Hospitality’s recent divestment strategy, following a series of high-profile sales in the region.
As part of its ongoing portfolio reshaping, Hallmark has now successfully sold 11 hotels, including The Lord Alfred; Lefties Music Hall on Caxton Street, Finn McCool’s Irish pubs in both Brisbane and on the Gold Coast; and The Cavill Hotel (Formally Melbas) also on the Gold Coast – positioning the highly regarded hospitality company to focus on its next chapter across Queensland and beyond.
Ben White, who enjoys a wealth of experience in the hospitality industry, having worked alongside his father at Bracken Ridge Tavern in Brisbane, will look to introduce a new chapter for The Spotted Cow Hotel; while ensuring it continues to be a venue renowned for its community focus and success.
The White family is widely respected in Queensland’s hospitality industry, and Ben’s leadership is expected to bring a fresh, innovative approach to the Toowoomba landmark.
“The Spotted Cow Hotel has long been a pillar of the Toowoomba community, and we’re excited to carry the torch forward” advised successful Purchaser, Ben White.
“We plan to preserve the traditions that locals love, while introducing new elements to make the venue even more vibrant and welcoming. Our focus will be on enhancing the guest experience, maintaining the venue’s rich history, and expanding its offering” White added. The sale of The Spotted Cow Hotel was facilitated by Glenn Price of HTL Property, who has been instrumental in managing the growing demand for pub sales across Queensland.
“Pub sales remain robust nationally, especially those here in Queensland. The Spotted Cow represents a well-established venue with a strong historical presence; and we wholly expect its new ownership under Ben White to only enhance its rightfully elevated position of prominence in the market” commented HTL Property Director, Glenn Price.
“The sale of The Spotted Cow Hotel is part of a broader trend in the Australian pub industry, particularly in the context of pubs selling outside the major metropolitan areas across Australia.
"This year, 2024, is on track to potentially set a record regarding the number of pub sales within regional areas across the major Eastern markets; and in doing so, reflecting strong market confidence and investor demand.
"These types of properties continue to attract substantial interest due to the proven and robust nature of their diversified revenue streams; and the value associated with underwritten business and land fundamentals; complemented by very valuable gaming machine entitlements.” Suggested Mr Price.
