ResortBrokers Western Australia Broker Blair Macdonald has sold the franchise of Quest Yelverton Kalgoorlie.

The 50-key Quest apartment hotel was purchased by a joint venture between existing Quest franchisee Sam Alshandoghly and first-time accommodation business owner Gaurav Raheja.

ResortBrokers previously sold Mr Alshandoghly the franchise to the 52-key Quest Bunbury in 2022, where he will remain as operator.

Quest Yelverton Kalgoorlie will be operated by Mr Raheja who until recently managed a large apartment complex in the Perth suburb of Ascot. He has also worked in front office positions for Grand Hyatt Dubai, Kempinski Delhi and Accor.

“We were able to put together a JV that suited both parties,” says Mr Macdonald.

“Sam will keep operating Quest Bunbury, while Gaurav will be client-facing at Quest Yelverton Kalgoorlie, a city he knows having lived there previously. Gaurav is a first-time Quest franchise owner so this will be a great opportunity for him to take his hospitality skills to the next level, taking advantage of the great training and support provided by Quest Corporate Office.”

In the last four months, Mr Macdonald has settled three Quest franchise deals, including the 94-key Quest Rockingham and 80-key Quest Innaloo in November 2024.

He says demand for Quest franchises is the strongest ResortBrokers has seen in his almost six years as the national agency’s Western Australia broker.

“Buyer interest for Quest businesses are at unprecedented levels,” says Mr Macdonald. “Quests located in metro locations are especially sought after. Demand for non-metro Quests might be less but is still high.”

“Kalgoorlie has a lot going for it. It’s the gateway to the Goldfields region and has a thriving tourism industry, which perfectly fits Quest’s appeal across both corporate and leisure markets.”
