Sonnel Hospitality has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of two industry powerhouses, Tim Fitzgerald as Chief Operating Officer and Jacqui Corbett as General Manager of Operations. Their arrival marks a key moment in Sonnel’s rapid expansion, as the group continues to redefine hospitality in Western Sydney with a strong focus on community-driven, elevated food and beverage offerings, and ambitious venue redevelopments.
With extensive experience across Australia’s leading hospitality brands, Tim Fitzgerald steps into the role after serving as CEO of Morris Hospitality and holding key leadership positions at Merivale and Keystone Group. As COO, he will drive revenue growth and strategic expansion while leading Sonnel’s major recently announced redevelopment projects for the New Victoria Tavern, Crossroads Hotel, Ashfield Hotel, and Ermington Hotel.
Meanwhile, Jacqui Corbett brings a wealth of experience from The Sydney Collective and most recently Momento Group as Chief Operating Officer, where she played a key role in driving operational growth, refining service strategies, and strengthening venue teams. Known for her ability to lead high-performing teams and create best-in-class guest experiences, Jacqui will focus on building strong relationships with venue teams, and enhancing operational excellence across the group.
Together, they will spearhead Sonnel’s ambitious redevelopment pipeline, reshaping its Western Sydney venues, enhancing guest experiences, and elevating the group’s hospitality and accommodation offerings.
“Sonnel Hospitality is at a defining moment of growth, and I’m thrilled to join the team as we shape the future of Western Sydney’s hospitality landscape,” said Tim. “With some of Australia’s fastest-growing communities, Western Sydney deserves world-class hospitality experiences. We’re not just refreshing venues, we’re completely reimagining them. From major redevelopments to strategic investment in F&B, we’re creating dynamic, locally loved destinations that set a new benchmark for hospitality in the region,” he continued.
Jacqui echoed the excitement, adding: “Western Sydney is a vibrant, diverse region that has historically been underserved when it comes to stand-out hospitality experiences. Sonnel’s commitment to community engagement, operational excellence, and guest-first service is what drew me to this role, and I look forward to working closely with our venue teams to bring this vision to life.”
