Award-winning design-led hotel collection Ovolo Hotels celebrates its continued investment in supporting emerging artists, partnering with established leading art event, The Other Art Fair, for a second year.
Having already partnered with The Other Art Fair in 2017 and in Sydney earlier this year, Ovolo Hotels joins the art fair in Melbourne from August 2 – 5. With over 100 Australian and international emerging artists, The Other Art Fair bridges the gap between people who are genuinely interested in art but struggle with where to purchase original works. The fair allows guests to view and purchase a variety of artistic pieces beyond finding them in the online world.
Ovolo Founder and CEO Girish Jhunjhnuwala is proud for Ovolo Hotels to be a part of this journey of art in Australia, illustrating the company’s support for events such as The Other Art Fair and emerging artists.
“I am thrilled for Ovolo Hotels to be supporting The Other Art Fair in 2018, the alignment is an obvious choice for us and I love that it allows new and emerging local artists to showcase their incredible talents,” said Girish Jhunjhnuwala.
“For Ovolo to be a part of events such as this, is an honour, and celebrating the unique differences and personalities of artists through their bodies of work is not only a passion but something I drive for Ovolo to represent in the hotel landscape.”
In 2017, Ovolo Woolloomooloo hosted a fashion art exhibition during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia with 2018 The Other Art Fair Melbourne Guest Artist, Dina Broadhurst. As a mixed-medium artist, Dina’s artworks are gaining high recognition amongst the art and fashion community, with Ovolo Hotels inviting her to be the artist in residence throughout the Melbourne event at Ovolo Laneways.
“It was a flattering opportunity to showcase my works in collaboration with Ovolo Woolloomooloo last year,” said Dina Broadhurst.
“I look forward to furthering our journey together at The Other Art Fair Melbourne as their artist in residence, with one of my major print pieces on display at the hotel throughout the fair.”
As a hotel collection that prides itself on difference and a non-cookie cutter approach, Ovolo Hotels continues to disrupt the hospitality industry, fusing shared work-spaces, restaurant dining experiences and effortless accommodation together, providing travellers and guests with an all-inclusive experience like no other.
Ovolo Hotels currently has nine hotels operating in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra and Hong Kong, with the highly anticipated Ovolo The Valley set to open later this year.
