Marriott has today announced it has signed an agreement with Ousia Investments to open a 150-room Courtyard by Marriott West Melbourne, marking the debut of the brand in Melbourne on the fringe of the CBD.
Located at 50 Batman Street, on the edge of Melbourne’s buzzing central business district in West Melbourne, Courtyard West Melbourne is a 20-minute drive from Melbourne Airport and a short walk away from the city’s celebrated dining, entertainment, sports and arts scene.
“Together with Ousia Investments we’re delighted to announce Courtyard by Marriott West Melbourne,” said Richard Crawford, Senior Director of Hotel Development, Australia, New Zealand and Pacific, Marriott International.
“Courtyard by Marriott is our largest brand by distribution with more than 1,100 properties globally, and it has been delivering outstanding results for the select service tier.”
For the past 35 years, the Courtyard by Marriott brand has provided the best hotel experience to support its guests in pursuing their personal and professional passions. True to the brand, Courtyard West Melbourne will feature guestrooms that combine stylish comfort with smart functionality, creating a modern environment suitable for working or relaxing. The hotel will also offer a signature restaurant with outdoor seating, a grab and go outlet, and communal public spaces.
Guests will have access to a range of amenities, including an outdoor, heated swimming pool and a 24-hour fitness center with sauna and steam rooms. Meeting and event organisers will be able to take advantage of 250 square metres of flexible meeting space designed to welcome groups of all sizes.
“Marriott International is growing quickly in Australia, where we currently operate 19 hotels and have a further 19 in the pipeline,” said Sean Hunt, Area Vice President, Australia, New Zealand and Pacific, Marriott International. “Demand is on the rise for modern yet affordable accommodations that appeal to ambitious and enterprising guests, so we’re delighted we’ve found the right site to debut the Courtyard by Marriott brand in the Melbourne market.”
