The official commencement of construction of Australia’s first 25hours Hotel was celebrated by VIP guests Michael Rodrigues, 24-Hour Economy Commissioner for NSW Government; Libby Harris, Night-time City Manager for City of Sydney; Sarah Derry, CEO of Accor Pacific; Wayne Chivas and Shane Smollen, Directors of Central Element; Nathan Chivas, Managing Director of Central Element; Tim Greer, Architect, Tonkin Zulaikha Greer; and Bill Moss, Chairman and Founder, Boston Global Group.
Wayne Chivas, Director of Central Element, said at the turning of the soil event today, “On behalf of the Central Element team and Boston Global our Joint Venture partners, we are extremely excited to be officially celebrating the commencement of construction of our 25hours Hotel Paddington today. We truly believe this project will transform this site on Oxford Street and be a catalyst in restoring Paddington to one of Australia’s leading leisure and lifestyle precincts.”

Mike Rodrigues, 24 Hour Economy Commissioner welcomed the addition to Sydney’s lifestyle and entertainment scene. “This development plays an important part in the future of Oxford Street and the future of the city. The 25hours Paddington, restaurants, bars, live performance and music space will add a new vibrancy and diversity to this precinct, creating a dynamic and adventurous community and draw international and local visitors to the city.”
Situated in the heart of the Oxford Street Village Centre near the Sydney CBD at the historic 1-11 Oxford Street Paddington, the original building was the site of Marshall’s Paddington Brewery before being replaced by West’s Olympia Pictures in 1911 – becoming a destination for Sydney’s movie lovers for nearly 50 years. In the 90’s, it was home to the Grand Pacific Blue Room – one of Sydney’s hottest nightclubs. Now, the historic location will embark on a new era, set to become one of Australia’s leading leisure and lifestyle precincts under the 25hours Hotel.
The development, scheduled for completion in 2023, will include a boutique hotel with 105 guest rooms, a spectacular rooftop bar, central garden courtyard, destination restaurant, café, retail and state-of-the-art entertainment and live performance facilities.

Award-winning Australian based Tonkin Zulaikha Greer are the visionary architects behind the hotel which will be built by Richard Crookes Constructions. The hotel is due to open in 2023.
