Industry leader, Alan Christie, takes on Growth & Development Role at La Vie Hotels & Resorts
In this newly created role, Alan will report to Chris Batterham, Chief Development Officer, La Vie Hotels and Resorts, and will be charged with growing La Vie Hotels & Resorts portfolio across Asia, Middle East and Africa.

Alan Christie La Vie Hotels & Resorts Growth & Development
With an eye on supercharging its growth in Asia Pacific and the Middle East, and in response for the growing demand and interest in independent full service hotel management solutions, La Vie Hotels & Resorts has promoted industry veteran Alan Christie to the role of Senior Director – Growth & Business Development, Asia, Middle East and Africa (AMEA).
In this newly created role, Alan will report to Chris Batterham, Chief Development Officer, La Vie Hotels and Resorts, and will be charged with growing La Vie Hotels & Resorts portfolio across Asia, Middle East and Africa and increasing awareness of this business model which has seen great success in America and Europe and of which La Vie has been championing in the region since 2014.
On this strategic promotion, Chris Batterham said “As we continue to see significant interest and growth in the franchise and white label model, we are thrilled to have Alan onboard as we continue our expansion across the AMEA region. As the region’s leader in third-party hotel management, we continue to offer an owner-centric hotel management solution through the full-service operating platform we operate. This, coupled with Alan’s immense industry experience will ensure we are continuing to build long term relationships with our partners.”
Previous to this appointment, Alan was La Vie’s Area General Manager, Sri Lanka where he was responsible for managing the strategic performance of the Radisson portfolio in Sri Lanka, following the group’s landmark 30 property deal with Radisson Group in 2023.
On this strategic promotion, Jerry Xu, Chief Executive Officer, La Vie Hotels & Resorts said “We have very clear targets and a very strong business foundation with teams set up in Sydney, Bangkok and Dubai that will support Alan in this role, and I am confident with Alan’s expertise, more and more owners will see the value that independent hotel operators like La Vie can bring to their portfolio. This appointment continues to strengthen our resources and team in South East Asia, and we will continue to also add resources to the AMEA region in line with our continued expansion.

Previous to his role at La Vie Hotel & Resorts, Alan worked for two decades in senior asset management across real estate, financial services and hospitality working for groups including JLL, Hospitality Advisory Partners and CBRE.
Commenting on his promotion, Alan said, “I am excited to be taking on this new role with La Vie, a company that has made significant strides in the franchise space over many years.
“The hospitality space is constantly evolving, and we’re seeing independent third party operators gaining significant traction in the Middle East and Asian markets following the huge success of this model in America and Europe. Now is the perfect time to start educating the market on the benefits of this tried and tested model, and I am excited to be part of the La Vie team as we continue our growth,” he concluded.
Alan will be based out of La Vie’s Bangkok Head Office.
