Lomani Island Resort & Spa, an adults-only sanctuary in Fiji’s Mamanuca Islands, announce the opening of its new Lomani Spa retreat this December.
Lomani Island Resort & Spa, an adults-only sanctuary in Fiji’s Mamanuca Islands, announce the opening of its new Lomani Spa retreat this December. Thoughtfully designed around four wellness pillars - Relax, Regenerate, Restore, and Rejuvenate – the Spa will offer an immersive experience that harmonises body, mind, and spirit.
The new spa marks an exciting new era of luxe style for the 30-bure boutique resort, elevating the guest experience for discerning travellers seeking a unique blend of relaxation, Fijian tradition, and personalised wellness. Lomani Spa’s design and philosophy were crafted in collaboration with experienced spa consultant Julie Newman, founder of The Facial Architect.
General Manager of Lomani Island Resort, Shelley White, says, “Lomani Spa has been a labour of love. We've worked hand in hand with Julie and benefited from her incredible expertise to create a vision to spark joy and excitement for our guests. We wanted to blend modern wellness practices with the natural beauty of Fiji. The result is a new lifestyle space within the resort where guests can escape, heal, relax and rejuvenate.”
Holistic Facilities and Unique Offerings
Set apart in a secluded jungle oasis, surrounded by frangipani and swaying coconut trees, the custom-built Lomani Spa complex offers a vibrant, nature-infused sensory escape just a short stroll from the guest bures.
A sauna, plunge pool, ice bath and relaxation deck, in addition to three private treatment bures, are available complementing traditional treatments with modern wellness therapies. The bures offer a mixture of couples and single treatment rooms, each with their own private outdoor showers, ensuring a deeply personalised and indulgent experience, exclusive to Lomani guests staying in-house.
For those who choose the more involved Wellness Journeys available, packages with freshly prepared spa cuisine from the Flametree Restaurant will enhance the experience with nutritious refreshments.
A Wellness Journey Tailored to the Guest’s Stay
The Spa at Lomani is a wellness journey, not just about individual treatments, but about creating rituals that flow with the guest's energy and needs throughout their stay. Whether guests begin with the Relax Journey to unwind after travel or choose the Regenerate Journey to reset their bodies after outdoor activities, each experience is personalised to nurture well-being.
“We want our guests to have a transformative experience that connects them to the healing energy of Lomani Island,” says Ms White. “Each spa ritual is designed to offer balance, tranquility, and renewal, perfectly matching the energy of their day or stay.”
Signature Treatments Reflecting Fijian Tradition
At the heart of the Spa’s offerings is the Lomani Signature Fijian Bobo Massage, a traditional healing practice passed down through generations. This deeply relaxing treatment uses long, rhythmic strokes with natural oils, creating a sense of bliss that eases muscle tension and detoxifies the body. Another standout is the Dua Tale Massage, where two therapists work in perfect harmony, offering a synchronised, unforgettable experience that leaves guests feeling utterly renewed.
Lomani Spa proudly partners with Nama Fiji, a sustainably sourced skincare range that uses wild sea grapes from Fiji’s Yasawa Islands. These products are vegan alternatives to hyaluronic acid, offering deep hydration while promoting sustainable aquaculture practices that empower Fijian communities. Each treatment at the Spa is infused with the rejuvenating essence of Nama Fiji, connecting guests to the natural beauty and culture of Fiji.
Fijian Healing at the Core
At Lomani Spa, the tradition of Fijian healing extends beyond techniques. For example, Luisa Nuku Seruitukana, one of the senior therapists, comes from a family of healers. Her grandmother was the village’s masseuse, passing down a rich tradition of healing through touch. “At Lomani, though we often come from different places, we become one family. This unity shines through in everything we do, especially in how we care for each guest,” Luisa shares. This cultural essence makes Lomani Spa’s approach distinctive, blending traditional and contemporary techniques to provide an experience unlike any other.
As Shelley White notes, the idea is to help people disconnect from the everyday to reconnect with themselves, their loved ones, and nature. “Lomani Spa is more than a place for treatments—it’s an experience that leaves a lasting imprint, inviting guests to carry the peace of Lomani with them long after they’ve departed.”
