Leading Perth developer ADC has welcomed residents to Freeman, Leighton Beach this week, who will be the first to enjoy the pioneering apartment proposition for Western Australia.
With the flexibility of both short-stay and residential occupancy, owners at Freeman can now live in their apartment; rent their apartment out long-term or short-stay via a centralised management service; or a combination of the three made possible via a flexible dual-key floorplan.
ADC worked closely with Mirvac and Development WA to secure the Freeman site in 2021. Located 200m from popular Leighton Beach, it is the final addition to the Freeman Loop component of the Leighton Development Area.
The first residential development of its kind in WA to receive development approval to then operate as a combined residential and short stay proposition, the ADC team sought out Australia’s leading short stay rental specialist, MadeComfy, to service the residences.
Together they have since developed and delivered a unique opportunity in the Perth market with exceptional and flexible choice for both residents and investors.

“From inception, our collaborative team recognised the gap in the Western Australian market for clever residential and short-stay product and quickly focused on accommodation that delivered on versatility, convenience and lifestyle to service not just the residents and visitors, but also investors, in the most resourceful way,” said ADC Director, Adam Zorzi.
“We are proud to have delivered a proposition not yet seen in the WA market, while delivering strong returns to our investment partners - particularly during a time with significant headwinds in the local construction industry. It is a testament to the quality and resilience of the project team members, who we are very proud to have collaborated with on this project”
Designed by internationally renowned and locally respected MJA Studio, the innovative and thoughtful approach to the 46 beautifully appointed apartments is now tangible on site - with communal amenity including a north facing rooftop pool, residents lounge and terrace with extensive views across the Indian Ocean set to be enjoyed by the lucky buyers who had the foresight to seize the opportunity and vision a couple of years ago.
Early planning saw versatile floorplans include 14 dual key apartments which offers residents the option to set them up as a two-bedroom apartment, or as a one-bedroom apartment with a separately accessed studio apartment – all to maximise the opportunity for concurrent short-stay and residential options.
The approach quickly resonated with market, with the project all but selling out within 12 weeks in market.
ADC confirmed purchasers seeing value in the proposition ranged from owner-occupiers and traditional investors through to regional WA families looking for a Perth residence that could generate returns when not using themselves.

“Freeman residents and owners now have a range of living and investment options available to them with MadeComfy’s award-winning and all-encompassing property management services at their fingertips,” said Mr Zorzi.
“The offer also delivers significant benefit to the WA tourism market offering the only new residential short-stay accommodation on the coastal stretch of Perth’s Western Suburbs.”
MadeComfy offers Freeman investors the ultimate flexible and convenient property management service, taking care of every aspect of short-stay rentals, from apartment set-up and styling to marketing, booking management and cleaning services.
MadeComfy Corporate co-CEO and co-founder Mr Quirin Schwaighofer said, “Freeman is a very exciting project for us and we are thrilled with how the proposition was embraced by buyers.
“It cements our expansion into WA and introduction of our award-winning short term property management services to Perth.
“Making it even more appealing to investors is having the full gamut of our services at their disposal which includes everything required to run a successful short-term rental property from complete furniture packages with professional styling and staging, photography and listing descriptions, to pricing, marketing across booking platforms including Airbnb, Booking.com, Vrbo and MadeComfy, guest communications, cleaning and property management.”
Remote building and apartment access control, centralised cleaning and linen stores, access to a 24- hour MadeComfy call centre and other guest management technologies that facilitate streamlined management and co-habitation by both residents and short-term guests have also been incorporated within the building.
The final two Freeman Residences are now available for sale from $1.25m.
With Freeman Residences now complete, ADC continue to focus on the construction of additional premium apartment product in Perth’s Western Suburbs - Mos Lane in Mosman Park and Price Street in Subiaco – among other projects.
