The multiple award winning Maleny Manor, in Queensland's Sunshine Coast hinterland, is offered for sale by CBRE's Hayley Manvell and Wayne Bunz.
Maleny Manor has been listed for sale for the first time in over 23 years, providing an opportunity to acquire one of Australia’s most awarded wedding venues.
CBRE Hotels agents Hayley Manvell and Wayne Bunz have been exclusively appointed to market the asset via an Expressions of Interest campaign on behalf of prominent businessman Geoffrey Thomas.
“It is with great sadness that I am listing Maleny Manor for sale. As I am living in the United States, I don’t have the time to visit as much as I would like to,” Mr Thomas said in relation to his reason for listing for the high-profile property, which is situated just over an hour from Brisbane in the Sunshine Coast hinterlands.
The extensively landscaped property comprises the wedding and reception venue with a chapel, helipad, vineyard and seven boutique accommodation suites. It occupies a large, 11.42ha estate, offering stunning hinterland and ocean views.
Maleny Manor was named as Australia’s No. 1 Reception Venue in 2016 and Australia’s No. 1 Ceremony Venue in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2017 at the Australian Bridal Industry Academy (ABIA) Awards. The venue has also featured in numerous lifestyle magazines including Marie Claire and InStyle Magazine.
Mr Bunz said; “Maleny Manor has an impeccable reputation as a wedding venue and is booked for over a year in advance – making this a definite ‘trophy’ asset. The sale will appeal to experienced operators or, alternatively, would make an exceptional private residence.”
Ms Manvell noted that the campaign was expected to attract extensive interstate and offshore buyer interest.
“The simplicity of the operation and value of the asset makes it an ideal first business for a new entrant to the function and accommodation sector,” Ms Manvell said.
“The large estate also provides scope for development and expansion to provide further accommodation, subject to the relevant planning approvals. The owner has commissioned extensive architect concepts and artist’s impressions to expand the operations and on-site accommodation, and has a lapsed Development Approval for a cellar door/winery, retail and hotel complex.”
The Expressions of Interest campaign closes August 17, 2017.
