The freehold and business of the Astra Hotel in Broken Hill is being offered for sale, presenting an opportunity to own part of the town’s history dating back to the 1890s.

CBRE Hotels has been appointed to market the imposing double-storey brick building, which is located on the corner of Argent and Oxide Streets in the heart of Broken Hill – the birthplace of international mining giant BHP.

BHP, known by the nickname “the Big Australian”, began its rich history in in a silver, lead and zinc mine in the western NSW township.
