Rod & Reel Hotel Woodburn sold by Greg Jeloudev of JLL Hotels & Hospitality Group on behalf of long-term owners, the McGeary family.
JLL Hotels & Hospitality Group is thrilled to announce the sale of the freehold interest in the Rod & Reel Hotel in Woodburn NSW.
The popular venue was sold on behalf of long-term owners, the McGeary family, who after receiving unsolicited interest decided to divest the venue via an off-market private treaty process.
The Rod & Reel Hotel is positioned on an impressive 3,339sqm block in the heart of Woodburn and enjoys flexible planning regulations of RU5 Village zoning and an 8.5m height limit. The venue was sold with enviable pub infrastructure including 10 highly prized gaming machine entitlements, newly constructed public bar and bistro, and 10 detached accommodation rooms. The venue also has a high performing bottleshop which rounds off the well-balanced hospitality offering.
Selling agent Greg Jeloudev notes “The Rod & Reel Hotel is a truly balanced hospitality offering that includes all the enviable attributes for a successful hotel operation, those being gaming, accommodation, F&B and take away sales. The future for the Rod & Reel is bright and the community of Woodburn can expect the venue to be a key social meeting point for many years to come.”
The Rod & Reel Hotel is located on the Richmond River in Northern NSW and is a short 35-minute drive southwest of Ballina. The town is well-known to regular travelers on the Pacific Highway with highly frequented roads leading to Evans Head, Ballina, and Casino. The Richmond River is a focal point of the town and is an excellent location for recreational water sports.
The freehold interest was successfully purchased by Daniel Simpson, who has been the tenant at the hotel since 2006.
The sale of the Rod & Reel Hotel closely follows similar regional freehold interest sales, including The Globe Hotel in Deniliquin and the Alpine Inn at Khancoban. Regional hotels continue to be highly sought due to their inherent robust trading profile and the ability to withstand changing macroeconomic conditions.
JLL Hotels thanks the McGeary family for entrusting the firm with this important mandate and congratulates Mr Simpson on his new acquisition.
