Tudor Hotel Redfern sold to investors associated with the Kospetas family’s Universal Hotels by Dan Dragicevich and Andrew Jolliffe of HTL Property.
Following a spate of recent announcements including the New Victoria Tavern in Wetherill Park, Tahmoor Inn Hotel and Windsor’s Fitzroy Hotel, HTL Property is pleased to confirm another significant sale in the form of Redfern’s popular Tudor Hotel.
Set across multiple levels, the stately inner-city magnet has been sold by the Anderson and Short families, with Martin Short as operator, to investors associated with the Kospetas family’s Universal Hotels.
The sale represents a new benchmark of hotel value in Redfern – a dynamic city-fringe suburb and genuine community precinct that continues to evolve and present great opportunities.
‘We’ve had such a great time running and evolving the Tudor over the past several years. It is a true local gem, full of character and charm,’ says Martin Short.
‘Whilst it was a difficult decision to make, the sale was the right next step for our businesses. It’s time for us to pass the baton on The Tudor, but there’s still so much that can be achieved’.
‘Universal Hotels will no doubt seize the opportunity to carry on all the great work our team has done there, putting their own twist on it into the future’.
‘We sincerely thank all of the team members we’ve had the pleasure of working with at The Tudor and all the local faces we’ve come to know and love. It’s been a really rewarding and satisfying time’, says Short.
"The sales activity in Redfern in recent times has been remarkable, underscoring the hospitality renaissance of the precinct. Marty and the team have done a fantastic job with the Tudor during their 7-year tenure, a true local favourite, which presents investment fundamentals that future-proof its continued success." noted National Director, Dan Dragicevich.
Previous sales by HTL Property in the Sydney suburb include the Woolpack Hotel to the Laundy family, and the Grosvenor Hotel to Ashton Waugh’s Watering Hole Hotels group.
“We’re on record talking to the demand underwriting the strength of the sector in 2022, and record sales such as this one, and others, reconfirm the immoderate attraction being portrayed by key stakeholders actively seeking greater exposure” concluded HTL Property Managing Director, Andrew Jolliffe.
The Short and Anderson families look forward to retaining a strong presence in the Redfern community with The Redfern & Misfits.
