Colliers agents Tim Altschwager, Duncan McCulloch, Will Sumner and Connor Dixon have been appointed to market a portion of the Vestey Family holdings at Coldstream Yarra Valley for sale.
A portion of the Vestey Family holdings at Coldstream in the Yarra Valley have come to market with Colliers. Coombe Farm, which is situated just down the road from the home of world-famous opera singer Dame Nellie Melba, Coombe Yarra Valley, is a vineyard and grazing holding primed for wine operations, development, tourism and accommodation and lifestyle ventures.
The holding comprises a total land area of 213 hectares (approx.) across multiple Certificates of Title on either side of Maroondah Highway and benefits from some of the best views in the Yarra Valley.
The property has been developed to approximately 45 hectares of vines planted to predominantly Chardonnay and Pinot Noir with smaller plantings of Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Pinot Gris, Arneis, Petit Verdot and Bogazkere. The property also offers an additional 15 hectares of trellised, unplanted land with the balance utilised for grazing.
Situated an hour’s drive from Melbourne, the property is surrounded by some impressive neighbours in a world-famous wine region.
“Coombe Farm is the gateway to the Yarra Valley, with neighbours such as St Huberts, Stones and Meletos, Punt Road, Chandon and only minutes away from Yarra Yering, location wise, it doesn’t get better than this,” said Tim Altschwager, Colliers National Director.
The property features two residences, operational shedding and 100ML of water entitlements, however it’s the development opportunities which Colliers believe purchasers will see value in.
The property offers a number of locations some with scenic views which would make exceptional locations for cellar door/restaurants, luxury homes or accommodation.
“Given this is the first time the property has been offered to the market in six generations, we expect strong interest at a local, national and international level. With four separate Titles, we also expect demand both as a whole and in the separate parcels individually,” added Duncan McCulloch, National Director.
The sale of Coombe Farm does not include and will not impact the separate Coombe Yarra Valley Estate, which will remain owned and operated by the Vestey family.
Colliers agents Tim Altschwager, Duncan McCulloch, Will Sumner and Connor Dixon are handling the sale via an Expressions of Interest campaign closing Friday 8 November 2024 at 2pm (AEDT).
