Nestled in the heart of Smithton, Tall Timbers Hotel is a unique and picturesque complex that offers a serene and peaceful escape for locals and tourists.
The vendors who have owned Tall Timbers for 35 years, have now given the sole agents clear instructions to sell with a revised price of $7million said Elders Commercial agent John Blacklow. “2024 revenue of $7,091,896 was a record year” added Mr Blacklow.
Additional parcels of land are also available as options, with 3 land parcels totalling around 50 hectares which is valuable pasture land for $1.6m.
This expansive estate, which spans over 10.73* hectares of lush pasture, lakes and creeks, is home to a range of facilities and amenities, including luxury accommodation, and dining options. In addition to the 67 rooms and hotel facilities, the hotel offers a range of recreational activities such as 2 tennis courts, a gym, and a leisure centre with indoor heated pool. Since 2005, the owners embarked on an expansion and renovation program costing over $5m* commented Mr John Blacklow.
The figures are continuing their upward trajectory, with an increase in hotel occupancy, plus advantageous changes to the gaming legislation in July 2023, he added. Tall Timbers Tasmania was built in 1989 and 1990 with expansions in 1996, 2005, 2021 and 2023.“2024 revenue of $7,091,896 was a record year” added Mr John Blacklow.
Manager Director of Tasmanian Seafoods (now owner of Tall Timbers Tasmania), Darvin Hansen, said he was sad to be selling the property but unfortunately with the continued growth of their seafood business it was not possible for Tasmanian Seafoods to continue to give Tall Timbers the attention it deserved.
“Tall Timbers is an icon of the Circular Head region, which has been expertly managed by a team of dedicated people lead by the General Manager John Dabner and Operations Manager Jackie Grey for the past 33 years”, Mr Hansen said.
“Over its 35 years Tall Timbers has hosted luminaries, including Prime Ministers John Howard.
“For decades Circular Head locals have enjoyed a frothy at one of Tall Timbers’ bars, and a meal at our restaurant or bistro, while visitors to the Coast have found a comfortable and convenient place to lay down their head for the night.
“Tall Timbers is a very sound business with a strong custom for visitors and locals alike, and I am confident that it will continue to operate for decades to come under new ownership.”
There is little doubt that this multi award winning acquisition is a trophy asset and is in magnificent condition throughout, added Mr Nicholas Bond.
