The first pub transaction for 2025 comes with the announcement of the Hotel Australasia in Eden having been sold by HTL Property after a competitive on-market sale process late last year.

The hotel was acquired by Sydney based developers, the Lyon Group who have existing hospitality interests in the region with the nearby Sea Horse Inn and Villas and the Boydtown Holiday Park.

HTL Property’s Sam Handy, Blake Edwards and Ben Kennedy negotiated the sale on behalf of Andrew Cummins and Peter Krejci of BRI Ferrier who were acting in their capacity as Administrators.

‘As anticipated, the Hotel Australasia attracted interest from food and beverage operators from Sydney, Melbourne & Canberra’ suggested HTL Director Sam Handy.

‘There were numerous offers submitted to acquire the hotel with the successful bidders needing to be very deliberate in their pursuit of the acquisition’, he added.

The Australasia Hotel is situated on large 2,886 sqm site within the main commercial and retail precinct of Eden.

The hotel underwent an extensive renovation and refurbishment in 2022 and was sold with a partially completed DA to create an outdoor kitchen, a bar and retail shops.

The business was generating annualised revenues of ~$2,000,000 when it was sold. Featuring eight accommodation rooms, highlighting the demand for occupancy and the lack of supply within the region.

This sale continues HTL Property’s strong track record on the New South Wales South Coast having recently sold the Ocean Beach Hotel (Shellharbour), Central Hotel (Shellharbour), Corrimal Hotel (Corrimal), Five Islands Tavern (Cringila) and the Unanderra Hotel (Unanderra).
