The lease to the 150-year-old Central Springs Inn in Daylesford sold, negotiated by ResortBrokers West Victoria agent Hugh Thomas.
ResortBrokers West Victoria agent Hugh Thomas has sold the lease to the 150-year-old Central Springs Inn in Daylesford.
Melissa and Michael Adamson sold their leasehold interest to landlords Joy and Roland Rentz, who have held the property’s freehold passive interest for approximately 10 years.
“Melissa and Michael had a great run operating this property over the last nine years, and with some changes in their lives felt it was time to move on,” says Mr Thomas.
“Joy and Roland saw the opportunity to invest capital into the property to realise its full potential as a freehold going concern and have relocated from Melbourne to Daylesford to make that happen.”
“ResortBrokers pioneered the leasehold model in the motel industry decades ago. In recent years, we’ve seen a trend in the other direction: the merger of freehold and leasehold interests, as was the case here with Central Springs Inn.”
One block from Daylesford’s main street, the 26-room motel is set across two heritage buildings: the Gentleman’s Guesthouse and National Trust Building, dating from 1865 and 1875 respectively.
Central Springs Inn enjoys a predominantly leisure guest profile due to its appeal as a quaint, quiet, historic getaway less than 1.5 hours’ drive from central Melbourne.
A rich heritage, vibrant culinary scene and Daylesford’s therapeutic mineral waters, which have been tapped by local bathhouses since the late 19th century, are the town’s three principal occupancy drivers.
