HTL Property expert Scott Callow has been appointed to market Balgownie Estate in Maiden Gully for sale or lease on behalf of Villawood Property.
HTL Property have been appointed by Villawood Property to undertake the sale or lease of the land and improvements formerly known as Balgownie Estate in Maiden Gully on the outskirts of Bendigo. The property will be offered with accommodation, glamping, restaurant, function and wine production/storage facilities on 16.51 ha. In addition, the existing high quality vines will be available for lease as part of this process.
Villawood acquired the Balgownie Estate in late 2024 with its approximately 200 acre land area that abuts the growing residential area north west of Bendigo. The property is steeped in history having produced a variety of award-winning wines under its label and for other local wineries. Alternatively, the vines will make way for a residential subdivision at some stage in the future.
“The opportunity to acquire the improvements of Balgownie Estate will ideally suit a hospitality operator or wine producer. The current accommodation and glamping operations combined with restaurant and function areas have proved popular for many years. The current wine production and associated improvements could also be repositioned as a brewery or for spirit production.” commented HTL Property Director, Scott Callow.
Anyone considering developing a hospitality operation should consider Balgownie Estate as an opportunity to acquire an existing operation with history and goodwill at well below replacement cost.
The potential exists for the operation to become a Regional Hub for winemaking, with many well-established local wineries producing their vintages at Balgownie Estate.
“The history and goodwill attached to this location is the perfect platform to create freehold and business of the future” concluded Callow.
Expression of Interest campaign closing at 4pm, Thursday 10th of April 2025.
