InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced two team appointments at Hotel Indigo Adelaide Markets ahead of its scheduled 1 March, 2021 opening. Thomas Zinn as General Manager and Gabriele Pezzimenti Chef De Cuisine.
This will be the first Hotel Indigo to open in Australia joining the boutique collective of 126 properties which has become a global success story for the company.
With over two decades of senior leadership experience across the tourism and hospitality industry, Thomas Zinn has been appointed to the role of General Manager. Thomas has been with IHG for nearly ten years and has proven leadership expertise in operations and advancing and modernising hotels. In addition to a long list of substantial capital works he has overseen in the past, he has also been involved in various refurbishments and is excited to spearhead this new build.
Thomas is joined by Gabriele Pezzimenti who has been appointed as Chef De Cuisine. Gabriele was born in Bergamo where, at the age of 15, he started an apprenticeship at three-Michelin-starred, Da Vittorio. His career has seen him work around the world – USA, Spain and Dubai – before settling in Australia in 2019.
Gabriele will take inspiration from the hotel’s location – adjacent to the renowned Adelaide Market and the abundance of local produce and high-quality wines and spirits produced in South Australia – as he develops the culinary offerings for the hotel’s two exciting venues – modern Australian Market & Meander Eatery and Bar, as well as rooftop raw food bar, Merrymaker.
Hotel Indigo Adelaide Markets will have 145 stylish guest rooms, all with design touches that tell the neighbourhood story and reflect both the important heritage of the city as well as its thriving contemporary arts scene.
