The freehold going concern interest in the Post Office Hotel Gulgong sold by JLL Hotels Executive, Greg Jeloudev, in an off-market transaction, with the pub being sold to a private investor.
JLL Hotels & Hospitality Group is delighted to announce the successful sale of the freehold going concern interest in the Post Office Hotel, Gulgong.
The venue was sold on behalf of the Brown Family, who after 9 years of custodianship move onto new business aspirations. Publicans Brad and Kim Brown have invested significantly into the venue, creating a rustic and tasteful bar area which is complimented by a new take-away bottle shop.
The hotel occupies a 1,834sqm site on a prominent corner position, and includes an active DA for accommodation development. The sale includes 7 valuable gaming machine entitlements with the venue enjoying a healthy diversified mix of trade.
Gulgong is a 19th century gold rush town located a short 25-minute drive north-west from Mudgee. The town exudes historic character and is home to around 130 National Trust listed buildings.
JLL Hotels Executive, Greg Jeloudev, facilitated the off-market transaction, with the pub being sold to a private investor.
Mr Jeloudev notes, “The sale of the Post Office Hotel is representative of the heightened market conditions due to record low interest rates, increased domestic expenditure and the diminishing supply of gaming entitlements. Vendors with a short to medium term investment horizon are identifying these market dynamics and acting accordingly.’
The sale of the Post Office Hotel demonstrates JLL’s continued market strength in regional NSW. With limited supply available, it is unequivocal that regional venues possessing gaming trade will continue to be highly sought.
JLL thank the Brown family for entrusting the firm with this important mandate and congratulate the purchasers on their new acquisition.
