The Colliers NZ Hotels team announced that they have acted as strategic advisors for our valued client Sarin Hotels on the acquisition of the DoubleTree by Hilton Wellington through an off-market sales process.
Colliers Director Hotel Advisory and Valuation NZ, Mr Chris Bennett said “The acquisition marks a significant milestone, transitioning from operating the hotel under a lease since 2018 to obtaining full ownership. This strategic consolidation significantly bolsters Sarin Investments' presence in Wellington's central business district and exemplifies their dedication to sustainable growth and leadership within the region's competitive hospitality market.”
Situated on the prestigious Lambton Quay, the DoubleTree by Hilton Wellington features 107 guest rooms, a bar/restaurant, and several high-profile retail tenancies. The property is located in the heart of Wellington’s CBD where key assets are tightly held and highly sought after, commented Mr Bennett.
The transaction represents the highest sales price for a hotel achieved across New Zealand since 2022, providing a positive outlook for the future, and optimism in this rebounding market, added Mr Bennett.
Located in the heart of Wellington’s CBD, the four and a half-star DoubleTree by Hilton hotel opened its 107 rooms on July 1, 2018.
